Human beings are more likely to become lazier, like this cat in the picture. In your mind, you may not want to sleep at all, but the comfy home environment just makes you sleepy and wants to get on the bed as soon as you finish your work.

Technology companies should be scrutinised, especially when their technology is used by governments. On Tuesday the 27th October, San Diego police announced that they had arrested a 75-year-old man on suspicion of Mary’s murder. John Jeffrey Sipos from Schnecksville, Pennsylvania had just left the Navy and was living in San Diego when he attacked Mary.

In mastering time, we find peace of mind. “Mastery” is not a word I tend to use or use lightly. I don’t mean our work is done and we have nothing further learn. Rather, each time we experience some kind of pain, worry, or conflict, we must understand that our relationship to time has been triggered. My spiritual tools serve their purpose when they function to realign me with this moment.

Sipos, who was in his mid-twenties when he raped and killed Mary, left behind evidence at the crime scene. His preserved DNA was run through genealogy databases and investigators quickly found a match.

Due to Covid-19, it may be a while before Sipos is sentenced but his arrest is a step in the right direction, to get another cold case off the table. He awaits extradition in Lehigh County jail, Pennsylvania.

Concerned with her absence, Mary’s friend went to her apartment, which was a few blocks away from the Star and Garter club. She found the door to her apartment kicked in and Mary’s naked and lifeless body lying on the floor, amongst overturned furniture. She had been viciously raped before she was strangled to death.

Leaving high school at 17, Mary married her Navy husband and they had two daughters. The family moved to Louisiana and then out to California where they settled. The couple’s marriage fragmented and they divorced soon after, with Mary leaving the family home.Nor do we master time by somehow moving past it. We cannot, for time is the mechanism by which God comes to know itself, by dividing itself into us.
